In Memoriam: David Aucoin
David Aucoin was a radio station staff member, who, for decades, had his finger on pulse of the Country Oldies program with Michael and Stu. Not only was he pivotal in seeking out guests to be on the show (Glen Campbell, Kenny Rogers, Tanya Tucker, Merle Haggard, Ray Price, and George Foreman are only a few of the notables that he was able to get), he was key in keeping the prize closet full for the many pot-luck-pick giveaways during those years. He was also a quick fill-in for Michael or Stu when the situation presented itself.
David and his father, Bill, were a fixture on the country music scene for years, traveling the region with the program’s best interests at heart. Those who worked at the radio stations at the time were always touched by David, who continually went above and beyond to get the job done and keep everyone happy.
With his sudden passing in April 2025, the broadcast world was left with a broken heart over the absence of this key player. And, for Michael Burns and Stu Fink, his passing was even more devastating with the loss of one of their best friends.
As Michael Burns used to say, “God Bless Dave Aucoin.”
